What is a colour patch test and why do I need one?
We take your safety extremely seriously, although reactions to colour are rare, when they do happen they can be serious. This is why we strictly follow our manufacturer’s guidelines on patch testing. A hair colour patch test is a simple procedure that involves applying a small amount of hair dye to your skin to check for any allergic reactions. The test is usually done on the inside of your elbow or behind your ear, where the skin is more sensitive. All new colour clients and some existing colour clients will need to be patch tested at least 48 hours before having hair colour applied.

Unfortunately, if you do not get a patch test done, we will not be able to go ahead with your colour service.

How long will it take to transform my colour?

Full Head Colour (tint):
Applying colour to your entire head of hair can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on hair length and texture.
Highlights, Lowlights, Balayage, Babylights, and Ombre:
These techniques require more time because the colour is applied strategically to create dimension and contrast.
Depending on the desired effect and the length of your hair, the process can take 90 minutes to 3 hours.
Root Touch-Up:
If you’re touching up your roots to cover grey hair or to maintain your current colour, the application process typically takes around 30 to 60 minutes.
These times are a general guideline however during your consultation we will give you an accurate time for your treatment.
How often do I need to colour my hair?

How often you need to get your hair colour re-done can vary depending on a number of factors such as hair growth rate, desired colour intensity, and personal preference. Our recommendations are:
Full-Colour Application (tint):
Re-applied every 6-8 weeks.
Highlights/Lowlights
These can last 8-12 weeks before needing to be re-touched.
Balayage:
The lowest maintenance hair colouring technique due to its natural regrowth, a balayage can last for 3-4 months before needing to be re-done.
Root Touch-ups:
Re-do roughly every 4-6 weeks to prevent noticeable roots.
